Sponsor a Monk or Nun
A dollar a day keeps a monastic in study, robes, meals, and care.
For $365 a year you support the education, room, board, and basic supplies of a monk or nun living and training in the monasteries and nunneries of the Tibetan settlements in southern India. That is roughly one dollar a day—the traditional cost of sustaining one monastic in exile.
After fleeing Tibet, these communities rebuilt their temples and schools so the lineage of study, ritual, debate, and compassionate service could continue. Your sponsorship helps feed that continuity: food, simple housing, robes, medicine, and the texts and teachers needed for a life devoted to the Dharma.
Aspen Tibet has long hosted monks from Gaden Shartse and related communities. Sponsorship is one of the most direct ways to support the same sangha that brings sand mandalas, blessings, teachings, and healings to the Roaring Fork Valley.
What your gift does
How to sponsor Donate $365 for one year of support (or any amount toward the fund). Use PayPal, Venmo (@Aspen-Tibet), or a check to Aspen Tibet, POB 10505, Aspen, CO 81612. Note “monk/nun sponsorship” so the gift can be directed accordingly.
Tax-deductible gifts support both the monastics in India and Aspen Tibet’s work of sharing Tibetan Buddhist culture here.
If you would like to sponsor a specific monk or nun, support a group, or help bring monastics to Aspen year-round, email [email protected] or call 970-948-9275.
Generosity through the heart, mind, and body creates authentic joy.
May this offering benefit the monastics, the lineage, and all who meet them.
